Description

This is a damaging immune response where an individual has an oversensitivity or hypersensitivity to a particular substance called an allergen, especially to a particular food (shellfish), substance, pollen, fur, dust, or insect bites (bee sting)

Symptoms

Symptoms may range from mild to severe and life-threatening (Anaphylaxis). The onset of symptoms is usually rapid (within a few minutes) but will depend on the nature of the allergy.

Common symptoms may include:
1. A swollen tongue or lips,
2. a red rash (hives),
3. Skin reactions, swelling, and puffiness, especially around the eyes,
4. Red, watering eyes (conjunctivitis),
5. Sneezing,
6. An itchy, runny, or blocked nose (allergic rhinitis)
7. Respiratory symptoms may include wheezing, coughing, and difficulty breathing,
8. headaches
9. Stomach pains
10. Diarrhoea

Treatments

1. Allergy testing is highly recommended.
2. Following a diet with an awareness of food allergies is important for food-based allergies. Avoid any foods containing artificial colouring, particularly FD&C Yellow No 5 dye, BHT-BHA, benzoates, and annatto.
3. For airborne allergies, an air filter/purifier may be required for office and home use.
4. Keeping a food diary will be useful to filter certain trigger foods out of the diet.
5. Ensure that only hypoallergenic supplements are used. Keep rooms free of dust wherever possible. Use mold-proof paint and ensure there is no mold growth in bathrooms, etc.
6. When pollen counts are high and on windy days try avoiding going outdoors.
7. Avoid smoking and secondhand smoke.
8. Alternative therapies such as Acupressure and acupuncture have met with some success.
9. Intravenous ozone therapy and ozone insufflations may also be beneficial

Nutrients and supplements:
1. Allergy formula tincture – for the relief of allergy symptoms
2. Black Walnut Hulls tincture
3. Probiotics – to aid digestion and keep the gut in balance, the gut can help mediate the body’s reaction to an allergen
4. Vitamin B complex – required for proper digestive function aiding in gut health.
5. Buffered Vit C – protects against allergens and assists with inflammation.
6. Boswelia – helps reduce inflammation and allergic responses.
7. MSM – has anti-allergic properties.
8. Quercetin & bromelain – immune booster and decreases reactions to allergens.
9. Vitamin B6 – helps prevent allergy attacks and wheezing.

Causes

Allergens (usually of a protein nature) such as eggs, strawberries, shellfish, colourings, and additives, also plants, molds, pollen, dust mites, feathers, fur from dogs and cats, and certain medications can precipitate the release of histamines and bradykinin which cause the reaction

Underlying Emotions

Feelings of hostility toward an invasive or offensive partner.
Suppression of deep grief due to a controlling or a dominating childhood.
Feeling allergic to situations or events. denying one’s own power.
Problems in life that seem impossible to resolve.
Unresolved generational traumas.

Diet

Following a diet with an awareness of food allergies is important. The IgE antibody may be formed by the body to certain food substances. If IgE is present in the lung tissue asthma or shortness of breath may occur, if it is present in the skin hives can form, and if present in the wall of the intestinal tract, gas, bloating, and pain can occur. Fasting and a rotation diet may also be beneficial. Keeping a food diary will be useful to filter certain trigger foods out of the diet. Make a list of suspected foods then omits these for a period of 30 days, then reintroduce them one by one. If any allergy symptoms occur make a note of these. Try these foods again and if they trigger symptoms, eliminate them from your diet.
Avoid the following foods until it is determined that there is no sensitivity to them: bananas, beef products, caffeine, chocolate, citrus fruits, corn, dairy, eggs, oats, oysters, peanuts, processed and refined foods, salmon, strawberries, tomatoes, wheat, and white rice. Avoid any foods containing artificial colouring, particularly FD&C Yellow No 5 dye, BHT-BHA, benzoates, and annatto
Allergy testing is highly recommended.
